I have a database server that runs normally at about 87 to 88 percent memory usage and I was wondering how I can set the memory threshold so that it does show "yellow" as if something is wrong.
Anyone know how to do this?
Look at changing the threshold at the node level;
Orion provides two threshold levels: critical and warning. A value that crosses a warning threshold appears yellow, and a critical threshold appears red.
Edit a local node threshold
Where do you want the yellow to "show"... in the pop up when you hover over the server.. in the Node detail page where it shows memory usage?? Also if its a database server that level of memory usage is normal... Windows (Microsoft SQL) or Linux (Oracle SQL)?
You're right, that usage of memory for SQL is normal and that's why I need to increase the threshold so my manager doesn't freak out when he sees yellow.
I set the threshold to Warning to 90 and the Warning to 95 but for some reason 88 is still showing Yellow.
I know within Microsoft SQL you can limit the memory used so if for example the box has 16GB on it you can set sqlserver.exe to use only upto 10GB (or whatever portion of the 16GB you want to set)...
Revisiting this.
Currently I don't seem to be able to get the child object to behave despite the following on the node:
It still shows up on the map and the node page as being at a critical level,
any ideas?
Currently with these versions of modules installed:
Although typically as I typed that, I popped into Network Atlas, right clicked the node, properties and selected the metrics tab and changed the memory threshold map to Warn=98% and Critical=99% and its now turned the child object a lovely shade of "all good green"!
