Network Traffic Analyzer 2.0 now available

SolarWinds is pleased to announce the general availability of Orion NetFlow Traffic Analyzer 2.0.  NTA 2.0 enables network engineers to capture continuous streams of network traffic and convert those raw numbers into easy-to-interpret charts and tables that reveal exactly how the corporate network is being used, by whom and for what purpose.

What’s New in NTA 2.0?

Enhanced historical data storage and analysis
Orion NTA version 2.0 improves database storage efficiency by over 100 times, providing far greater historical analysis and trending capability.

Increased Performance
Orion NTA 2.0 data collection and correlation performance has been improved 10-fold over the first version.

Reporting 
NTA 2.0 now provides both out-of-the-box and custom reports using Orion Report Writer.  Out-of-the-box reports include traffic by application, endpoint, protocol, domain, and IP address group.

Historical NetFlow Forensics 
Users can now focus NTA views and resources on very precise time periods.  NTA 2.0 will allow users to look back at incidents from an hour ago, a week ago, or even a month ago and ask:  What happened between Time X and Time Y?

Note: Licensing and interface counts have changed from NTA 1.0 to NTA 2.0.  NTA 2.0 licensing has been simplified to match the underlying Orion NPM license.  For example, Orion SL500 has a corresponding NetFlow Traffic Analyzer NL500 module.  Most NTA 1.0 customers will be provisioned automatically for 2.0 if the base Orion version is known.
