Cannot run NPM and NCM websites at same time!

I am running NPM and NCM on a test Win XP "server" for now.

I will confess right off to not being IIS savvy. I am having trouble getting the NPM 9.1SP2 and the NCM 5 SP2 websites to run at the same time.

I just finished installing NCM and running the integration routine. But, I see in the Orion Service Manager that only one website is running. I can't start the other one. Is this normal? Is it a limitation of XP that I will not see on Server 2003?

This is the expected behavior on XP workstation. It should work fine on Win2003.

A: There are several. The most significant is that you cannot create more than one website and it is limited to 10 connections. Why? It's a client operating system not intended to act as a server. IIS is provided to serve as a development platform, not act as a server. To get unlimited websites and connections, you need to invest in a server operating system. You can buy the Windows 2003 Server Web Edition for less than $400 online at various places.

XP only allows one website to be running at a time (and NCM v5 now includes its own website).

Thanks guys. So, as long as I use two different ports, things should be fine using Server 2003?

That's correct. In fact, by default NCM will run on port 8888 while NPM runs on port 80 by default.
