More fun with filter syntax

I added a new user to EOC and noticed that when he launches EOC, and even with him in the same group as me view-wise, the filter syntax applied to the view is empty.

Is it possible to apply filter syntax to a "view" so that anyone assigned to that view gets the same data? Makes things a whole lot easier to manage when you have multiple views, users, etc.

The Global Events Summary doesn't currently let you filter by Node info. I would suggest you open a ticket for that to be added.

You can however filter by event type. For example,

Event.EventType > 0 AND Event.EventType < 212

which should give you node, volume, interface events.

If you want to get the list of EventType numbers you can take a look at the EOC_EventType database.

In the View Manager, in the admin area, you can edit the resource settings and specify a filter for the particular view. This will apply to all users who see that view.

Thanks...that worked.

One other issue is with Global Events Summary. I can't seem to use any filters to just show network device events. I tried a simple Node.Vendor = 'Cisco' and I get nothing when I know I have events for them. I want to filter out all non-network events like servers, etc. I do also, however, want to see thinks like NetFlow Database Maintenance and poller start/stop messages.
