Getting all service down alert's after rebooting any (Server) Node.

Question

Hi All,

If i reboot any of the server which is under solarwinds monitoring, all service or component down alerts are flooding which ever are getting monitored for that particular server,

let say if i reboot server name (XYZ) and (HTTP port 80 and service - Apache Tomcat) is getting monitored for server (XYZ),

next i am getting (HTTP port 80 and service - Apache Tomcat) down and also all services down alert.

Hes not restarting SWO services. Hes talking about child objects under Nodes. When a node is down all SAM monitors assigned to that node should have a status of UNKNOWN or UNREACHABLE. What is the trigger condition of your alert for the application monitor? If its looking for a condition of NOT UP that would explain this. Look at the history of the application monitor assigned to the node in question. What was the reported status during the alert?

Before restarting the solarwinds services it is best to 'pauze' all actions on alerts.

You can do this by going into the window with current alerts.

On the right hand top corner you find a 'more' button.

click it and select 'pauze actions of all alerts'
