Sending SMTP to another e-mail address

I have set up an e-mail notifications from scheduled config backup template. My Exchange server (2007) will send the e-mail alright to my local address. When I include an outside mail address, I never get the e-mail.

Is there a way to go about this?

I had to create a custom email group on my Lotus notes server called networkconfigchanges@yourdomainhere.edu

Then under the Nodes you use the contact field for where you want the config notification email to go to. On your real time notification use the $contact selection.

Sorry, I am not well verse in Exchange server but is Lotus Notes a different mail server? Will your suggestion work in Microsoft Exchange server?

Yes, lotus notes is a mail server. This will work for any email system that has the ability to create a user account.

When we've seen issues like this it usually relates to an SMTP Relay Server that is not forwarding the traffic.
