So now as of 10.1 we have groups and dependencies, which are both AWESOME!
However today I was thinking about a better way to screen alerts for certain people or stem the tide of alerts if there is a major failure (without using a mass of dependencies).
I came up with the idea of alert priorities. Assign an alert a priority and you can screen from there.
IE Tech Guy X gets priorities 1-10 but Vice Pres Z only gets the most critical of 9 and 10.
I thought this might also work when alerts tend to get flooded, maybe have some type of engine where if more than X number of alerts are active then only action on priorities 5-10.
Just a thought.
