Exchange Web Services User Experience Monitor -- Subject Line

The new Exchange Web Services User Experience Monitor is a great tool. It allows me to see issues with full mail flow.

My first monitor was an email to our smtp server which tests the full internal flow.

My second second monitor was a test to gmail, with an forwarding rule back to the mailbox being checked. This however doesn't seem to work because the forward rule adds fwd: front of the subject line.

Is there some way to do a regular expression search for the guid that solarwinds is looking for in subject line? (Fwd: APM_EWSTestEmail__GUID:8463a637-ba1axxxxxxxxx)

can anyone think of a better way, enhancement request?

Unfortunately, the probe looks for exact string in subject, no regex search is implemented in it.

However, I did couple of tests with gmail account, and when I set forwarding on the gmail server, I don't see any 'Fwd:' prefix in my forwarded messages.

I don't know, how your mailboxes are configured, it seems that you set up the forwarding rule on your email client. Consider creating dedicated gmail account with forwarding to the monitored mailbox for purpose of EWS monitoring.

Does this mean that the regular expression which was used in the MAPI monitor is not available anymore?

Second question is the parameter <subjectmatchsubstring>true</subjectmatchsubstring> still available in the new monitor?

That option was implemented for the MAPI User Experience Monitor only. They have not as yet been implemented for other email protocols such as POP3, IMAP4,or Exchange Web Services.
