How to Get All Switch Port Details Without Monitoring the ports.

We have a requirement to retrieve the complete port/interface inventory for all switches currently under monitoring in SolarWinds NPM.

Current Scenario:

Switch nodes are under monitoring.
Interfaces/ports have not been added for monitoring.
When we open List Resources for an individual switch, we can see all available interfaces/ports discovered on the device.
Some switches were added through a Discovery Profile several years ago, while others were added using the Add Node option.

Requirement: Fetch the interface/port details for all monitored switches directly from the SolarWinds database (SWQL/SQL), without importing the interfaces for monitoring.

I would appreciate any guidance or recommendations from the community on the best approach to retrieve this information.

If anyone has implemented a similar requirement or is aware of the relevant SWQL entities, database tables, or supported methods to obtain the complete port/interface inventory for monitored switches without importing the interfaces for monitoring, please share the details.

Thank you for the clarification. I understand that NPM only maintains information for interfaces that are currently being monitored. The Universal Device Poller approach sounds like a good workaround. I'll give that a try and see if it meets the requirement. Thanks again for your guidance!

Or, if you have NCM inventory configured, and/or UDT set up, you can leverage those resources to see complete inventories of devices. If you take the NCM inventory of all ports, and remove the ports that NPM manages by matching them up, you'd be left with a list of unmanaged ports.

Hi, if I understand you correctly you need a report showing all interfaces on all switches that you have in NPM, even the interfaces that you don't monitor as of now.

That is not possible with NPM.

NPM only have information about the interfaces you have chosen to monitor.

You can potentially create a couple of Universal Device Pollers that lists all interfaces on each device and create a report from that. That would be doable with only NPM.
