Bandwidth Threshold

Question

I need help with setting up bandwidth thresholds.  I have a firewall that has a 3088kbps down and 3088kbps up.  I set the Last-Value Threshold Max Traffic (in + out) to 6176 kb/s because I don't care if it gets 100% maxed out.  But I have the Short-Term Threshold Max Traffic (in + out) set to 3000 kb/s and the sample size at 600 seconds.  My expected results was if the bandwidth usage is above 3000kbps for more than 10min, then it's a failure.  This didn't work...

Couple of notes:

1. Threshold values are specified in KB (kilobytes not bits).

2. Last-Value Threshold Max Traffic is what is used to trigger the alerting process.   ipMonitor first checks this value.  If this is exceeded, then it checks the Short-Term Threshold to see if this was just a spike or something that has been building up over time.
