Hi ,
BGP alerts triggering on routing Neighbors ,can we make it trigger on Node ? Because the neighbor ip is not in CMDB which leads to missing CI in incident.
Network team also want this alerts on Node ,whether it is possible ?
Use the variable below in the Trigger Action tab. When the alert is triggered, it will display the protocol name, neighbor IP address, node name, and the current protocol status.
${N=SwisEntity;M=ProtocolName} Neighbour [${N=SwisEntity;M=NeighborIP}] of Node [${N=SwisEntity;M=Router.Nodes.Caption}] is ${N=SwisEntity;M=ProtocolStatusDescription}
Hello @thangaselvi
You need to control this on trigger action as pointed out by naveen, not sure what sort of integration you have in your trigger action, are you passing any variables onto the alert or is it a direct integration with ServiceNow ? If you are passing variables in that case check out the previous post from naveen which should do what you are looking for.
Hi @vinay.by ,
Its direct integration with ServiceNow.
Right now i have only one action for SNOW where i am passing ${N=SwisEntity;M=Caption} for CI field for node based alert it is working . For interface and BGP it is not . Can we add multiple variables or for interface i need to creation new action with variable ${N=SwisEntity;M=Router.Nodes.Caption} and assign to interface related alerts In CI.
Hi @vinay.by @naveensingh43 ,
I have added the variable ${N=SwisEntity;M=Node.Caption} in alert and passed this variable in CI field in SNOW action and it fixed the missing CI for Interface alerts checking for BGP alert.
For BGP the variable ${N=SwisEntity;M=Node.Caption} is not available , so i need to use ${N=SwisEntity;M=Router.Caption} or ${N=SwisEntity;M=Router.Nodes.Caption} . Now in Same SNOW action in the CI field i can pass two variables ? I tested but not working .. Else for BGP again i need to create new action with its variable for CI
${N=SwisEntity;M=Node.Caption} +${N=SwisEntity;M=Router.Nodes.Caption}
Makes sense, thanks for the update @thangaselvi
