Just recently, a new version of our SDK package was released, version 3.4.0.50128.
In that release we have a few small updates and some larger updates. For full release notes and to download the new version, please go here:

What’s changed
OAuth support
Starting with Orion/SWOSH platform version 2026.4, OAuth is supported.
OAuth is supported in both SWQL studio and PowerShell connections since SDK version 3.4.
In SWQL Studio, enter your servers hostname or IP Address and choose OAuth:
A Web browser will open when you click 'connect', requesting you to sign in and authorize access from SWQL Studio.
Click 'Allow' and switch back to SWQL studio and use it as normal.
With PowerShell, a new command has been added – “Connect-SwisOAuth”. When using this command, the same sign-in process starts in your web browser, as shown above with SWQL studio.
Example:
$host = 'myorion.mydomain.local'
$swis = Connect-SwisOAuth -Hostname $host -TrustAllCertificates
Read all about Connect-SwisOAuth here:

JWT from an API Token
Not directly related to the new SDK version, but new in 2026.4, is the possibility to use API Tokens when connecting to SWOSH. Use the SWIS HTTPS JSON endpoint on port 17774 and send the JWT in the Authorization: Bearer header
Admins create the tokens on the same page as creating user accounts. Tokens are connected to an existing user’s account:
When created, the user can manage the Token themselves via the Profiles menu:
The token can be used for connections towards the platform. Read more about this here:
https://solarwinds.github.io/OrionSDK/docs/connecting-to-swis/#jwt-from-an-api-token
An example on how to use this in PowerShell:
$hostName = 'MySWOSHServer' #My SolarWinds server hostname or IP address
$jwt = 'eyJhbGciOiJSUzM4NCIsImtpZCI6Ijk1NEE0QUU3.................' #My SolarWinds JWT token
$swql = 'SELECT TOP 10 caption FROM Orion.Nodes'
$query = [uri]::EscapeDataString($swql)
$uri = "https://${hostName}:17774/SolarWinds/InformationService/v3/Json/Query?query=$query"
$result = Invoke-RestMethod `
-Method Get `
-Uri $uri `
-Headers @{ Authorization = "Bearer $jwt" } `
-skipCertificateCheck
