How to search and filter groups on the Manage Groups admin page?

We've been using SolarWinds since 2019. I've never seen a search or filter control on the Manage Groups window. Have I been missing something this whole time?

Hi @knerrmj,

You haven't missed anything at all.

Unlike the Manage Nodes page (which has the search bar and left-hand filter pane), the Manage Groups admin page (Settings > Manage Groups) has never had a native search or filter box built into the table.

If you have a large list of groups to sift through, here are a few common workarounds the community uses:

1. Column Sorting & Browser Find: Clicking the Group Name column header to sort alphabetically, combined with Ctrl + F in your browser, is usually the quickest way to jump to what you need.
2. Custom Query Widget (SWQL): If you frequently need to search through hundreds of groups, adding a Custom Query widget to a dashboard can give you a quick searchable view:
3. Manage Entities / Modern Dashboards: If you are on a recent SolarWinds Platform / Hybrid Cloud Observability release, the entity views and modern dashboard widgets provide much better search and filtering capabilities across group entities.

It’s definitely a long-standing feature request from the community. If you'd like to see a dedicated filter/search bar added to the admin page in a future update, feel free to submit or upvote it in the SolarWinds Platform Feature Requests section.
