SolarWinds.SolarWindsTFTPServer on winget

Question

Hello,

Just noticed that i was unable to install SolarWinds.SolarWindsTFTPServer from winget. I get Installer hash does not match warning and install fails.

>winget install SolarWinds.SolarWindsTFTPServer

Any ideas?

Thanks for confirming. You’re right, winget source update won’t resolve this if the manifest still contains the old SHA-256. Since the package points to a SolarWinds-hosted installer, the package maintainer will need to update the manifest. This thread is the right place to report it. In the meantime, please don’t bypass the hash check, use the direct download and verify its checksum.

Hello PJC and thanks for the reply. Yes, that seems to be the case. I did create ticket to Solarwinds about this but they said it's handled by the community, hence posting it here. Source update did not resolve the issue and since the package is own by Solarwinds they are the sole party to update manifest and package. Is there a place where to also report about this?

Thanks for reporting this. That error usually means the WinGet manifest’s recorded SHA-256 no longer matches the file currently being served by the SolarWinds download URL, rather than a problem with your system.

I’d avoid bypassing the hash check. Try winget source update and run the install again. If it still fails, download the TFTP Server directly from the official SolarWinds site, verify the checksum, and report the WinGet package so its manifest can be refreshed.
