Connecting Azure Managed Instance from SolarWinds

Hi Team ,

We are planning to install SolarWinds newly in our environment we have SQL MI in primary and secondary is in process to configure for failover groups .

I Have VM ready to install SolarWinds module in MPE and APE so while installing and connecting to SQL MI do i need to create a new user or can i use the existing user which was created during SQL MI provision ?

After DB creation by installation wizard does the sql authentication needed or SolarWinds will create its own user during the installation process ?

Shall i start the application deployment and later configure the failover with Secondary MI ?

Any suggestion

I'll be interested to see how you get on with a SQLMI backend because when we did a pilot project on this last year it became clear that you'd not get the required performance out of MI unless you threw a lot of money at it to get the IOPS necessary.

If the existing account has sufficient privileges, there is no requirement to create a separate SQL user specifically for the installation.

Once the environment is stable, configure the SQL MI Failover Group.
