WMI Polling Failing on Windows Servers After Upgrade to 2026.2.2 (from 2025.2.1)

We recently upgraded our SolarWinds Platform from version 2025.2.1 to 2026.2.2, and immediately following the upgrade, we noticed that WMI polling is failing across our monitored Windows servers.

Has anyone else encountered WMI polling issues after moving to 2026.2.2?

Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks @nagla , we are not there yet but good to know what's happening. Once you hear back from SolarWinds please do update this thread with the details. Did you encounter any other issues post upgrade or during the upgrade or just this?

I actually already have an open ticket with SolarWinds Support . Right now, I'm acting as the bridge between our internal System/AD Team and SolarWinds Support, but we haven't reached a working solution yet— all failing servers have dropped back to ICMP/ping-only polling.

Our System Team strictly forbids granting local Administrator rights to the monitoring service account, so we are trying to get the new 2026.2.2 polling engine working via a non-admin WinRM/WMI profile.

If anyone in the community has successfully configured non-admin WinRM GPO policies after upgrading to 2026.2.2, I’d love to hear how you handled WMI namespace ACLs!

We had a somewhat similar experience, though not exactly the same. After the upgrade to 2025.4, we found that certain WMI queries failed because they were run against the root\microsoftDFS namespace and no matter what we entered Solarwinds was forcing them to run against root\CIMv2. The fix in this case was to wait as it was resolved in 2026.1.
