Patch Manager Inventory Task Triggered VMware Tools Uninstallation on vSphere VMs

The inventory task in Patch Manager caused VMware Tools to be uninstalled on some vSphere VMs, which resulted in the affected VMs losing their network adapter and IP configuration. The inventory task was configured to read only the installed programs.

Has anyone else experienced this behavior? The Event Logs indicate that the "SolarWinds Client Component" triggered the MSI Installer.
