Hi All,
We have around 2000 devices which is part of 5 different teams onboarded in same APE , how do i restrict the visibility of devices between teams.
Team A should not Team B devices.
I'm with @cnorborg on this one. Group assignments is probably your best option. I use dynmic groups based off of responsible group custom properties, or an email field on the node. You can really use any kind of value from the node though. Then when I setup the groups permissions in SolarWinds, I limit based off of the group (or group of groups).
In our organization, we use the Account Limitation, but all of our devices are assigned to teams with a Custom Property. So then the device holds the Custom Property that is used for the limitation. We have extended that to Application Owners if this is not a device but an application or Web Transaction or what ever we need.
Assign the devices to groups and restrict it that way? Group assignments can be done dynamically based on quite a few different things, make sure you look into that. The restrictions are implemented in the Users account under "Account Limitations", you should look through that to see if an easier way than creating a group might suffice? ie: if the groups are based on vendor or machine type or something you can just do that?
I wanted to share a new dashboard a co-worker ( @mblackburn ) came up with to help us better view groups of interfaces and various metrics for each. Using a single HTML widget, we are able to visually compare numerous different interfaces by populating each interface dataset onto its own graph. We are able to view…

It can list alarm object details and connected device details separately in HTML template. Except for object and device details, you can easily add custom property information…
