Subject: DameWare MRC 12.1.2 install fails — SolarWinds.MRC.Licensor.exe LicenseStoreException (need LicenseReset)

DameWare Mini Remote Control 12.1.2 (standalone) fails to install on Windows 11 Enterprise LTSC 2024 x64 with:
"There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected."
(MSI error 1722, custom action APPDIR running SolarWinds.MRC.Licensor.exe.)

Event Viewer -> .NET Runtime (1026): SolarWinds.MRC.Licensor.exe terminates with unhandled
SolarWinds.Licensing.Framework.Store.LicenseStoreException at
LicenseStoreDAL.ValidateStoreHash -> CreateNewStore -> InitializeStore.

Already tried: run as administrator, reboot, .NET 4.8 present, FIPS disabled,
removed SolarWinds leftovers (ProgramData + registry). Still fails when the licensor
creates its license store.

This matches THWACK discussion 2512 "License Activation Crash", which was resolved with
your LicenseReset.zip tool. Please send LicenseReset.zip and the steps to reset the
local license store.

You are correct in your diagnosis of the situation.

This is a known Dameware licensing-store issue. Please download and run the License Reset utility on the affected machine as Administrator:

 https://downloads.solarwinds.com/solarwinds/Support/LicenseReset.zip

This requires a SolarWinds Employee to enter the password for this reset tool due to internal policies. Do you have an Account Manager you are working with today to be able to schedule a quick call with one of my Solutions Engineers to get this issues corrected in short order?
