Observability Agent Upgrade Issues

I have posted this before I think and no one has answered so I will try again. 😁

All Windows Agents

Updated Observability to 2026.11. I missed the part of the update that added to new POLLING ALERT which caused some fun during the update. I was more concerned about port 17734 and missed the polling alert.

This happens to nodes during any update not just to 2026.11.

Update Observability Let things sit for a day before I push out Agent updates.

Push out Agent updates. Some agents update just fine while others will say they are in an Update in Progress and will spin and spin and spin.

If I go to check installed plugins NetPath Agent Plugin says Installation Pending.

This will spin and spin and spin.

How do I normally fix this? I will go to the node > edit properties flip the node from Agent to WMI, hit ok, go back to the node and change it from WMI to Agent.

Go back to Manage Agents, plugin update required, hit update, and node is fine.

Something under the hood of Solarwinds Observability is getting kicked when I flip to WMI from Agent and then back to Agent.

Hoping to find maybe a PS script or something to fix this so I do not have to manually flip these nodes.

When we went up to 2025.2 there was an issue with agents not fully updating which had me baffled for a while, trying various ways of remotely restarting agents which didn't seem to work because the agent was in a half-conscious state and didn't appear to be connecting. The thing that fixed it was restarting them from the poller side in Manage Agents. There was just enough connectivity for them to respond to this and they all came up fine afterwards.
