In our current environment, internet links are configured on Fortinet SD‑WAN using SVIs with BGP. We already have BGP monitoring enabled.
However, we are facing a few scenarios where the link remains up, but traffic is not passing through the link. Since we have more than three ISP links per site, this becomes difficult to detect and manage using only BGP status.
We are looking for a better and more reliable link monitoring solution that can accurately detect such partial failures (link up but no traffic flow) and help with proper path selection/failover in SD‑WAN.
I’d really appreciate your suggestions or best practices to handle this type of scenario—especially from anyone who has implemented similar setups with Fortinet SD‑WAN.
