Hi , has anyone successfully ingested flow data into Solarwinds from Cisco Telemetry Broker? I can't add the broker as a managed node - does this mean NPM will reject the flow data?
So update to this thread in case anyone is considering using Cisco Telemetry broker. It appears to forward on the Netflow traffic maintaining the source IP address therefore as long as the node is added into Solarwinds , Netflow traffic can be easily ingested from the Telemetry Broker
Hmm… Interesting, I always thought something like this would be a good idea, had no idea that it existed. Always though Solarwinds should do it.
That being said though, does the telemetry broker forward the information as itself? That would be rather useless I would think? In Kiwi Syslog for instance, when forwarding logs to another host, it gives you the option of "spoofing" the original host when forwarding the logs. I should think something like a telemetry broker should do the same? Or at least give you the option to do so.
Yes, NTA want the data to come from a monitored device so it can map the flow data to a node. But as said, of the broke can spoof the data, it could be done.
