We have an issue with agent polling. We cannot deploy agents. We've tried deploying from the web console and from the target server. Both fail to deploy. From looking at the logs it says that the certificate thumbprint doesn't match. Other errors when deploying from the server state, "Agent connected to Agent Management Service but provisioning failed, error code [0x80090016]- Keyset does not exist: Failed to create certificate." And, "Agent connected to Agent Management Service but provisioning failed, error code [0x5]- Access denied: Failed to create certificate. We are on version 2026.1.0. The issue is the same on 2026.1.1. We tried moving to 2026.1.1 to see if that resolved the issue and it didn't. Event logs from the target server only shows the application starting, installing, and stopping. Oddly enough it will show up on the web console, but says failed to deploy so it is reaching the SolarWinds server when trying to deploy from the target server. This leads me to believe it isn't a firewall/port issue, and is specifically a certificate problem.
I opened a ticket with SolarWinds a week ago and Tech Support gave us some instructions, that when enacted, broke the configuration wizard so we had to rollback and are back on version 2026.1.0. (They said to make sure the SolarWinds SCA and CA certs were in Intermediate and Trusted and we showed them in the opposite places than instructed. Adding the certificates to Intermediate and Trusted broke the config wizard. Removing them did not resolve the config wizard issue so we rolled back). The next was to temporarily reduce the security level and change some things in the files or try to deploy from the web console which I told them in every communication that it didn't work. I pointed this out to them and the latest I've been told is that it has been sent to next level support.
We need agent polling so we can gather security events for our servers and it is failing to deploy the agents to any server using either method. I'm posting this to see if anyone here has had the same or similar issue and maybe knows something that can help.
Thank you.
