Failed Upgrade 2024.4.1 to 2025.4.3

When doing an upgrade via the centralized upgrade tool does anyone do anything with their AOG group in sql, should I switch to asynchronous commit until after the upgrade then allow the secondary to sync? Going from 2024.4.1 to 2025.4.3, last upgrade failed and waiting for solarwinds support to give me some answers.

I have 2 database servers in a AOG group, primary/secondary.

synchronous commit

auto failover mode

Upgrade initiated from centralized upgrade tool and main core server was stuck at 94% and wouldnt move. Ended up rolling back main core and both DB servers to restore.

Looks like you got a AG failover during the upgrade.

The odds of that happening are low. But to be sure, yes, you can switch to async or just disable auto failover during the upgrade.

While upgrade , need to disable the HA Pool or Global HA. other wise its triggers the failover.

Hi @sivananda - We are talking about the SQL high availability here, not the SolarWinds High availability. SQL HA does not HAVE TO be disabled, but in this case it seems that it was a safer choice.

But you are right that SolarWinds HA must be disabled during the upgrade as of now.
