No, you cannot install SolarWinds Hybrid Cloud Observability (HCO) on a Linux server. SolarWinds HCO (Hybrid Cloud Observability) / SolarWinds Platform / Orion Platform must be installed on Windows Server, not Linux.

You can't yet, but it's coming hopefully this year thanks to a platform migration to .NET 8.

some additional clarification here. Installation of the Main Polling Engine will remain on Windows for the foreseeable future.

The migration to .NET8 will eventually give a phased approach to using linux as part of the SolarWinds deployment. It'll start with a lightweight .NET8 only engine, which would allow the possibility to be installed on linux with additional phases allowing for all the functionality of a full additional polling engine.

the lightweight linux polling engine will realistically come in the 1H 2027 but we hope to deliver it late 2026 if possible.
