Hi,
Up until July or so in 2025, we all could change the NMC share password, as needed. (https://server/Orion/NCM/Admin/Settings/AdvancedSettings.aspx)
But since then it stopped working. After looking into it, it seems my employer has changed the policy used by the share account. Entering the new password and clicking "Verify" or just saving the page (which also verifies) will not work. This is caused by my employer disallowing "Interactive Login" (Logon Type 2).
And when you put that password in NCM's page, it attempts a Type 2 login to verify the issue. This fails the verify or save from changing the password. I've had a ticket in that asks can we get a batch job or a database change to push the password. SW says "no, there is no way to avoid Type 2 logins when changing the share password.
So, rather than having my several polling engines send files to the share, I have to copy manually from, the \Config-Archive\ folder on each server and manually copy the changed files to the main share…and repeat for each polling engine.
Is there any way to make this work? SW says you can't get this to work even by direct database manipulation.
Are we the only ones who have this issue?
Thanks for your help!
