We would like to announce the general availability of Kiwi CatTools version 3.12.6. This service release contains following new features and improvements
- Updated license framework
The licensing framework in KCT has been updated to 3.9.18. - Enhanced commercial licensing
KCT 3.12.6 includes enhanced commercial subscription licensing. When a subscription license expires, users will see a warning banner and a button allowing them to renew their license. Users are unable to upgrade to the latest version of KCT without an active license.
License subtypes are now displayed on the About screen: Commercial-Subscription, Commercial-Perpetual, and Commercial-Temp Key. The About screen also shows license expiry status and expiration date for expired licenses: Commercial-Subscription-Expired, Commercial-Perpetual-Expired, Commercial-Temp Key-Expired, and Evaluation Expired. - Implemented RFC message format for syslog logs
KCT now supports RFC 3164 and RFC 5424 message formats for syslog messages. The default syslog format is set to None. - Support for new device model
Cisco Catalyst 1300 has been added to the Cisco.SmallBusiness model selection list, allowing users to select the correct device type. - Version table support for Cisco.SmallBusiness devices
KCT now generates version table report for Cisco.SmallBusiness device type. - TFTP disabled by default for new installations
To reduce the risk of vulnerability, the TFTP server is now disabled by default for new KCT installations. The TFTP service will remain enabled by default during upgrades from previous versions to 3.12.6, In KCT 3.12.6, users can enable the TFTP service by clicking the Start button in the TFTP pane and enabling Automatically start TFTP server on program startup under Options > Setup > TFTP Server. - New documentation for registry settings
Documentation has been updated to include details on registry settings. See Registry settings. - General improvements
