SolarWinds Version Upgrade Planning: 2024.1 to 2025.4.2 or 2026.1

I am planning to upgrade our environment from SolarWinds 2024.1 to either 2025.4.2 or 2026.1. To proceed smoothly, I request the following comprehensive details:

New features introduced in the latest versions
Known bugs/issues addressed or present
Options/features removed compared to 2024.1
Operating system support updates
Database structure and table changes
Kiwi log details
Improvements in High Availability (HA) setup
SQL Server Compatibility
Dependencies and Integrations details

Kindly help me in the information so we can plan the upgrade effectively

Would it be better to log a case to the SW support but I believe they would refer you to the release notes for the version that you are going to. All the information are there if you care to do some searching, after all sooner or later, you will need to upgrade for the sake of EOL.

You can use the release note aggregator to see all changes from your version to the current version. There are dozens of new features and hundreds of bug and security fixes between 2024.1 and 2025.4.2.

If you rely on Azure Cloud Monitoring then I'd stop at 2025.1 because all later versions have a bug that prevents cloud monitoring working correctly due to SW not handling a paginated response from Azure correctly. Your monitored cloud VMs will literally disappear and can't be re-added. As of 2026.1RC this is still true.

We have fixed issue related to Azure VMs polling in 2025.4.2 but nothing related to paginated response. Can you please raise support ticket with all details so team can verify it? Thanks for raising it.

+ Please try to upgrade to 2025.4.2 (RC2) if fix mentioned above resolves the problem.
