Orion Platform Upgrade from 2024.1.0 to 2025.4.2

We are in the process of platform upgrade from 2024.1.0 to 2025.4.2. We have done some modification in out production environment for Log entry message customization in 2024.1.0 using swql. So here our query is now if we upgrade to the latest version 2025.4.2 does it will our production database schema. Also want to know any major changes on the DB tables for both versions.

Sorry i dont understand the first question, so you are using swql to retrieve data from your database for Log entry messages or have you made some changes to the db tables itself ?

Yes, there are some changes on Database between 2024.X and 2025.X, but I am not sure what all. Check other thwack posts. When you upgrade to production the schema will be auto adjusted, it might break your customization, its best to raise a case with the vendor if you are unsure of it.

Thanks for your reply. We have done some custom table creation with custom fields for Log entries. So we need to know if we are upgrading to latest version will there be any changes in table schema, or it will get affect the custom tables which we have created.

Hard to know what will happen during and after the upgrade if you have many custom modifications to the SolarWinds SQL database. Depends on how and where you have created them.

I would recommend that you have a separate lab installation of SolarWinds, where you have the same db modifications, and test the upgrades and changes there first. If you have Observability Enterprise, lab licenses are included.

IF you just have created some "Custom Table Widgets" in the GUI, with SWQL, then you should most likely be fine though. Not sure what changes you are talking about here.
