HPE Server Machine Type in SolarWinds display as Compaq

Hello:

All my HPE Servers was classified the Machine Type as Compaq. May I know how can I correct it?

The MIB is 1.3.6.1.4.1.232.9.4.12

HP bought Compaq back in 2002, and kept the name alive until in their product portfolio util 2013.
In 2015 HP split into HP Inc and HPE.

The device is responding with the CPQSM2-MIB MIB OID on discovery so it be labelled as a Compaq device.
I am not aware of an easy way to fix this, maybe BIOS/firmware updates on the offending device might update the SNMP agents MIB capabilities to something within the last 10 years?

this is expected, as the OID is associated with the compaq MIB. You could fiddle in the database but this won’t be anywhere near of a supported scenario. Also you could ask HP to come up with their own HP branded MIB and retire the Compaq MIB.
