NTP status check

Hi,
I have a task to configure something similar to NTP drift monitoring. I have a bunch of Cisco devices in SolarWinds, and I need to configure SolarWinds to check the NTP status daily. It should look for the phrase “Clock is synchronized” — and if it’s not found, send an email alert to my Outlook.

Has anyone configured something like this before or knows how to do it?

So, the OID you're probably looking for is 1.3.6.1.2.1.197.3, probably the ntpAssocOffset table within there. It does poll on my Cisco 9000 and 3850 platforms. It gives you a table of values for whatever your looking for, in the case of the ntpAssocOffset it gives you the time offset of each time server. An active one will have a non-zero value, while a dead one will be 0.000 AFAIK. I can't tell if any of the values give you a simple associated or not? You should be able to plug it into a Universal Device Poller, which you have to set up via an application on the main poller. Then, you can find the values using SWQL in a report or resource. HTH!
