Is there a way to use Entra as a source in UDT ? It looks like there is only AD Domain Controllers, unless I am missing something?
Currently, Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) cannot be directly used as a source in UDT, as it primarily supports traditional AD Domain Controllers for synchronization. However, you can integrate Entra ID indirectly through Azure AD Connect or API-based synchronization to fetch user attributes and group data. This setup allows you to bridge cloud identities with your on-premises environment, similar to how tools like Instaviewer pull external data sources seamlessly into one unified view.
You can include full UDT connection details by replacing the default Watch List alert with a custom alert that runs an SWQL query to pull the device’s MAC, IP, switch, and port before sending the email. Many admins use an Action Rule or small API script to insert these fields into a custom email template, giving complete context when a device appears on the network. You can even add simple tags, like using the tm supersurf promo as an example label, to help identify or group certain devices in the alert.
