Web GUI Load Time Help!

We're running Solarwinds Platform 2025.2.1 (have upgraded multiple times since the issue began) and for the last 2 years, we have been fighting HORRIBLE page load times on the Orion web GUI. We've done everything internally we know to fix it. Our LAN isn't the problem, the server resources isn't the problem (on the MPE or SQL server), but in running Hubble, it seems to be queries that are the problem. Not custom queries…native ones. Of course, at this point, I'm coming here because we all know how contacting support can be. I'm hoping anyone might have some insight or suggestions. I've included a couple of sample Hubble outputs (one from 2 weeks ago and one from 2 years ago). Our DBA is hesitant to turn on the result caching for fear of how it may affect results that aren't actually the same even when the query is.

is the system shut off from the internet?

If so you might want to switch off the check for revoked certificates as this could cause slowdowns due to checks on those certs that are not possible to go through

Unfortunately, the system is still public-internet facing due to some limitations in the nature of our business and need for employees to access the system when VPN isn't an option. The root cert checks are something I discussed at length with our IT director.

Do you require SSL authentication? If so, then see if it is acceptable to set IIS (if you use IIS) at the top level as require require then the lower levels require accept. Where I worked before doing this sped up the website as a whole and still required a certificate to login.

Otherwise look at how large the database is, how long logs are being stored, and check that database maintenance is occurring. From what I remember reading somewhere else, queries can take a long time if there's a lot in the database or the maintenance isn't happening or is done irregularly.

I guess I'm not sure what you mean with the SSL cert. We do require SSL, but I don't understand the IIS settings you're talking about.

The database is large (we have a very powerful server setup to handle it) and we do run database maintenance once per week. The issue, according to the Hubble outputs, appears to be with duplicate queries. It suggests result caching, but we're unsure about what that may do to our data, so looking for some insight on that.

As for the IIS SSL settings the parent level (website) is set to require and the lower levels like applications and folders set to accept. Why this made the website run faster? I don't know, but it did make a difference back then for us. This may not help your situation and could have been a fluke.

Thank you. I'll take a look. I have looked at that second link you sent and done most of those things, but the issue is that the Database Time is what's insanely high, not the Other Time. That's why we're looking into the DB caching.

256 GB RAM

Intel Xeon Gold 6334 CPU @ 3.60GHz

3 TB HDD for system/ 18 TB SSD for SQL storage - RAID 10
