We’ve been cooking up something big, and it’s finally out of the oven.
SolarWinds® Security Event Manager (SEM) 2025.2 brings enhancements that simplify and scale operations better than ever before. If you’re running a serious security operation and need speed, flexibility, and less license math headaches—this one’s for you.
10,000? Yup, You Read That Right
SEM now supports up to 10,000 events per second (EPS), depending on your hardware, and connects up to 10,000 log-sending agents.
It’s ideal for growing, complex environments. Whether dealing with mountains of logs from thousands of endpoints or building out a global SIEM footprint, SEM can scale up and out to keep up without breaking a sweat (or your infrastructure).

New Deployment options—Nutanix and Google Cloud Platform Join the Party
SEM has played nice with VMware, AWS, and Azure. But we heard you: flexibility matters. So, with 2025.2, SEM now supports Nutanix AHV and Google Cloud Platform.
Running multi-cloud? Hybrid? Got a Nutanix-first environment? No problem. SEM fits in wherever you need it.
Multi-Factor Authentication via SAML—Security That Plays Well with Others
You asked for stronger authentication, and we delivered. Multi-factor authentication (MFA) via Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) is now built-in. This means smoother, safer logins using your existing identity provider—no extra steps, no added friction—because securing your security tool shouldn’t be complicated.
Multi-Activation Licensing—Finally
Perhaps most transformative is SEM's new multi-activation licensing model. Enterprise customers now enjoy unprecedented flexibility in allocating their SEM licenses. For example, organizations can purchase a SEM 5000 and a SEM Workstation 3000 license and distribute those entitlements across multiple SEM deployments as needed.
This marks a significant departure from the previous approach that required separate license SKUs (SEM 500, SEM 200, etc.) based on specific deployment requirements. The new model allows security teams to adapt their monitoring capabilities to evolving needs without procurement headaches. It’s flexible, clean, and finally built for real-world needs. Licensing just got way less annoying.
The SEM 2025.2 release is a love letter to enterprise security teams everywhere. It offers a bigger scale, tighter security, and smarter choices. Go ahead, throw more at SEM. It can take it.
