Effective April 1, 2025

For years, our forums have been a haven for tech talk, troubleshooting, and camaraderie. But if we’re honest—sometimes, responses get a little… wordy. To promote clarity, efficiency, and a touch of artistic flair, the THWACK® Community team is proud to announce the Haiku-Only Comment Policy.
What This Means
Effective immediately, all comments and replies must adhere to the classic haiku structure:
- 5 syllables
- 7 syllables
- 5 syllables
Why the Change?
- Precision Matters–If a network issue can be diagnosed in three lines, why waste a paragraph?
- Aesthetic Excellence–Because troubleshooting should be both functional and beautiful.
- Challenge Accepted–Let’s see who among us has the sharpest tech wit and poetic chops.
Moderation and Enforcement
- Our moderators will be rigorously reviewing comments for adherence to the 5-7-5 structure.
- Any rule-breakers will face the following penalties:
- A 100 THWACK point deduction
- A temporary haiku ban
- Public haiku ‘corrections’
A Celebration of Poetic Excellence
To mark this new policy, we’re offering a special incentive: the top three haikus with the most upvotes on this announcement post will each earn 150 THWACK points.
Need Inspiration? Here’s a taste of the poetic prowess we expect:

I spent them all on a puzzle
No regrets at all.

I am the genius.
Haikus are now law. Let your inner IT poet shine. We look forward to reading your short, insightful, and deeply moving tech struggles.
Brace yourselves, THWACK. The future is 5-7-5.
