I have already voted. Ok. Anyway the biggest challenge is visibility.
I have voted, but none of the option here are my issues. The biggest issue is time, manpower, and cost to maintain a system. SolarWinds is not hard, but when you add in other tools like Forescout, Acrsight, ACAS, ISE along with the Networking piece it takes a village to manage your complete Enterprise Monitoring Suite. Reducing Technical Debt is a solution but that also takes time.

I voted as well, question on mission still shows as unanswered. I recall when first starting in managing alerting was just the sheer number of alerts that needed to be squelched down to make them actionable. Something that needs to be done early and often and is in the alerting 101 book, but still something that many struggle with.
I agree with Eric.
The ISE alone is a lot to take in. I've got it all running now but it wasn't trivial getting it working with all the certificates and PKI chain back to the various authorities.

Turn around Reverend, you're preaching to the choir. The complexity of SolarWinds and an inexperienced admin at the helm is a recipe for an ordeal. Add an older, faltering SW environment that was maintained at a best effort rate, then you have my current position. I can thankfully say that my manager and my colleagues have been amazing at helping to make sense of the mess.

Unpredictable outage and remediation costs - This is huge cost and blind spot.
The costs of manpower required to maintain systems for monitoring is a significant issue.
