okay I am in class this week...so I've only had the chance check out one of the articles.

The AI vs. Pilot. This is one that was coming...and I can see in use sooner rather than later as aircraft technology is advancing and human physiology is not.

We as human just can't take the forces modern fighter aircraft can dish out. This will step up certain events to un-manned fighters. Although, a human still needs to make some decisions...although they can be done remotely.

Hackers don't need Malware? Spot on. Except when they DO need it. And even when they don't need it, remember to keep your belt AND suspenders on. But getting inside so they can take advantage of your own tools (I bet lots of folks leverage WMI) is the issue. Shall we toss the baby out with the bath water? Or offer helpful suggestions to prevent/limit/detect exposure?

A.I. vs. human fighter pilot? Can you say "Hello, Sky-Net"? I knew you could.

Failing Security Basics . . . sad. Pathetic. Pitiful. Dangerous. I read this end to end--it was like using a sledge hammer to set a tack, like watching a burning car full of kids driving off a bridge. Unable to turn away, I exposed myself to the entire set of terrible stories. O the huMANity!

Flight Delays? I hear some countries are improving this situation, even going so far as to reduce the amount of time spent waiting at traffic lights. Look for this to improve in the future everywhere--if the bad folks don't shut down air traffic completely, and if it doesn't evolve to the day when only billionaires can afford to fly.

Data Center energy consumption: Back when Nortel was desperately trying to keep their head above water, their P.R. department attacked Cisco with what Nortel called "The Cisco Energy Tax", noting how much more efficient Nortel equipment was at electrical costs and cooling needs--and at a lower price point than Cisco. Cisco countered with their EnergyWise solution--which seems to fit my organization's need at certain Access level devices, but certainly not in a Data Center. Well, Nortel's gone & dead, and Cisco rules, just as they intended. Hmmm.

Blaming Brexit on poor CRM seems a little far fetched to me. I wonder if Brexit would have occurred if NATO or the E.U. or some group of allied neighbor nations had intervened in the situation in Syria to prevent millions of people from having to flee their homes for their lives, ending up in Britain and other countries in seemingly unending quantities. It's hard to know, especially having watched the U.S. fail in so many nation-building exercises in the last 50 years. Iraq and Afghanistan could have been our good friends--especially if the U.S. enforced internal business rules on companies also doing business in other countries. Instead it seems U.S. businesses may have treated their foreign host countries pretty poorly, thus inadvertently defaming the U.S. and sullying its reputation. I could be wrong, and certainly am ignorant to some degree, but if you want others to do business with you and like you, shouldn't you always act responsibly and ethically, instead of going for the maximum profit at any cost to the locals? Better to have a long-term friend and customer and make a little money every year, than generating massive profits at the expense of a local economy and environment, isn't it?

D.R. There's an expense (to many eyes) that is so challenging to get right. Like an insurance policy, you'd never invest in it if you knew you'd never need it. And you'd invest everything in it if you were 100% certain it would be necessary to save your business. Who can afford to be without a great D.R. solution? "Your backups are only as good as your last restore"--so who tests the D.R. to ensure it's in working order?

As a CBCP I can highly recommend that you review those DR Plans. Hurricane, Tornado, Fire, Flood, and Nor'Easter seasons a'comin! And let's not forget about the social and political unrest that is brewing under the surface in our society.

Try this little exercise. Look at your Plan. Note how many steps fall on one individual who is the only one capable of executing said step. If any of those steps are crucial you have identified a big gap. Time to train more people.
