I am shocked and disappointed.
I signed up to attend a webinar hosted by Solarwinds (and advertised here on Thwack) regarding Database Performance. I entered my contact information in good faith when signing up for the webinar, and now I have received not only a cold call from a salesperson who doesn't appear to work for solarwinds, but also an unsolicited email. I signed up for the webinar for my own professional development, not to give my information to 3rd parties.
I really feel that giving my contact information to salespeople is inappropriate and a breach of trust. It was my understanding that Thwack was a place for IT professionals to share knowledge and ideas regarding the family of Solarwinds products, not for salespeople to generate leads.
Has anyone else had this kind of experience? Combine this with the near immediate sales calls you get upon downloading a trial or release candidate of solarwinds products, and I'm starting to wish I used one of my spam catcher email addresses when signing up.
