Lovin' DPA (did the survey) it has really helped us tune it in. We applied it to our two production servers on July 27th, this is one of them. You can easily see how we have improved! I was easy to see how increasing the ram (August 12th) and a few things has greatly improved performance.

I do like DPA, as soon as I installed it I saw obvious things that needed fixing. However, I'm not the SQL guy so I took it to that team and was met with a very excited "Hmm, we'll take a look at it."

Richard: Are they still looking at DPA? Are they members of Thwack?

I do periodically. No, they are not part of Thwack. They get the reporting, but push it to the back burner because there haven't been complaints.

If they'd like to learn more about DPA and what it can do, let me know. We can take this offline and I can make sure they get some content that helps explain what they are looking at and why it matters to them (regardless of whether people are complaining or not). 8 )

Great idea, I'll get with them and try to get the ball rolling. I hate having a product and not having the intended audience utilizing it. Thanks for the suggestion.

Hi There..

I did want to say that I really support the DPA.

DPA provides great in-depth information in real time and convenient drill downs into queries and plans.

The graphics are appropriate and provide long term comparison making new issues stand out.

Love DPA. We got it about 1.5 years ago. We used it to solve a nagging Oracle performance problem less than 2 weeks after getting it (that we couldn't see with Grid Control). We're in it all day every day. Great product.
