Help: Extra Poller Confusion

I can't seem to find where to setup the extra poller health monitoring in the EOC.

Am I missing something or is it just combining my SLX and extra poller information together?

If this is the case, how will I know if there is trouble with one of the extra polling engines?

It's not that we can't do it, but we don't yet. I've captured it as a feature request.

It's pulling from the Orion database, so it includes all of the your additional polling engines.

Okay, so if it's only showing the main NPM Orion server, how will I know the health of the extra polling engine.

I had a problem with my additional polling engine due to another application on the server, the EOC did not alert to the health of that engine or at the least it couldn't show my admins that there was any time variations since the last sync, this seems to be more and more like a feature request if we can't see all engine status.

It doesn't show the status of each polling engine. You could add each polling engine as a node. If you want to know the health of individual services on individual boxes, you might consider buying a small version of Application Performance monitor. It can monitor individual services.

Denny, thanks for your reply on this but before we made our purchace of more NPM SLX this year we could see a view that showed ALL polling engine sync times. That is what I'm looking for, the ability to know the sync times to all my polling engines in EOC not just the NPM servers. I don't believe that the answer to my problem is to "purchase" more software.

Inside our monitoring view of the NPM's before we started using EOC we has a box called "Polling Engine Status" that looks like this:

I'm just looking at this and asking why can't I have this in my EOC? Or at least the EOC version.

Take a look at the "Package" name for each server. One is the stand alone poller and the other is the full version NPM. So, what I'm really feeling from your response is that there is not anything setup right now in EOC that can achieve this and it could have been something overlooked.

Maybe this should be a feature! Because, if that will never be possible then why do I need EOC, I can just buy more monitors (much cheaper than software)and have the same view for each of my 5 global regions and always see the 10 Polling engine status (five full NPM's and five extra pollers). Because if I'm using my EOC to monitor the status of poll completions and data sync then I'm only getting half the picture.
