I brought my daughter to an event last weekend. At one point during my presentation she looked up at a word on the screen and asked:
"What is latency?"
And she did it with a smug look on her face...the look like she was challenging me to explain something in a simple enough way for her to understand.
So, I answered her...
"Latency is a measure of how long something takes. For example, when we call you down for breakfast and it takes you ten minutes, that's a measure of your latency."
As the attendees started laughing the look on her face went from smug to slightly annoyed.
I think I won that round.
