NCM Database Maintenance

We have a NCM server stood up with 2008 SQL backend.

We have noticed that as we have been using the product more the integration between NCM and NPM has been decreasing.

Maybe I missed it but I was not able to find anything about database maintenance in the admin guide or on the forum. Are there recommended procedures and maintenance plans that could be implemented in SQL to get a little better performance?

Does Solarwinds have "recommended" database settings for SQL 2008 R2 that would make things run a little smoother?

I know these are pretty open ended questions but with the lack of a proper DBA in the office and the use of the SQL box any help would be appreciated.

I will say that the box itself should not be an issue as its a 16 Core 72GB RAM server.

I would like to know recommended best practices for standalone NCM SQL database maintenance too. I'd like to know what others have done for SQL maintenance plans so I can advise our DBA? In rebuilding indexes, what is best to use as the low fill factor? Is 50%-60% a good number? Do you do a db shrink before rebuilding indexes? Do you run the plan weekly, monthly?

Hi,

NCM 7.1, currently in release candidate phase, add better support for DB maintenance (). However there may still be some changes based on feedback we have received. Once we come to conclusion, I will post more information here. (If I happen to forget, please remind me.)
