Switchport Mapper Response times in Workspace Studio v10.5

After upgrading to v10.5, I noticed a significant delay in the time it takes the gadget to produce a 'port map'. In v10.4 it takes mere seconds, in v10.5 it takes upwards of a minute and a half. I'm curious if anyone else is experiencing this?

If I launch the switch port mapper tool (outside of Workspace Studio) from v10.5 Toolset Launchpad, the response times are consistent with what I see in v10.4.

Understood. We've given a HotFix to support. This HotFix addresses both the Switch Port Mapper and Route Viewer performance decreases in Toolset 10.5.

You must be using Toolset 10.5 to use this HotFix.

To get the HotFix please contact SolarWinds technical support.

RMaxam - Can you send me a packet capture of the SNMP traffic between the PC and switch during the port map? I have not heard of anything like this in 10.5...

Hi Greg,

Attached pcaps of:

a) Switch port mapper in Workspace studio v10.4
b) Switch port mapper in Workspace studio v10.5
c) Switch port mapper in Launchpad v10.5

Each wireshark capture represents the exact same switch query.

Would the issue you found also possibly explain why there seems to be a significant amount of latency associated with the new 'route viewer' gadget displaying a given device's routing table?

I would like this fix ASAP. I run a script with the CLI version that collects maps and displays them through Orion via XML daily. Since upgrading to 10.5 to try out the DNS mapping it takes up to 15 minutes on some devices with DNS and 10 without. Please help as the average time is about 2 minutes. 2 minutes x 800 devices = TOO LONG.
