Guys,
I am beating my head of a wall here trying to implement the correct steps for what seems to me like a very simple report from NCM. I want to download the current Startup-Config and Running-Config from a given Cisco device. I then want a report to run to tell me if there is a difference between them. Simple eh! You would think so.
I have tried many variations of the Download Confis Task 'Change Configs' section, and tried a Config change report variation also. All i keep getting are changes from yesterday to today and not what i am looking for per above. In essence i would expect my report to be empty of changes, but alas i dont.
Example, if i choose to download the current running and startup config and then choose to ' Send a notification if the downloaded config is different...' What do i choose here??? Last config?? Not baseline right? Startup config? If I look at a devices config history, I note that NCM downloads running configs first and saves them, which means that a startup config is always most recent in the devices history. So... how does the above comparison work..
Does the 'last config' compare against the running or startup config just downloaded in the scheduled task
Sorry for the Rant, and if this does not make sense. But hopefully some just has a few simple steps to make my simple goal a reailty. (Sheesh - i tought i knew this product)
Regards
Stephen
