Yesterday I did the following upgrade:
a. Upgrade NPM from version 11.5.3 to 12.0.0
b. Upgrade SAM from version 6.2.3 to version 6.3.0
c. Upgrade VNQM from version 4.2.3 to version 4.2.4
First of all I had to go through our change management system which took about 4 weeks to get approval. So at the time I originally created the change record 12.0 was what I downloaded and copied out to the servers.
Once I was approved and a ready to go, about a week ago I saw 12.0 (r2) was out there. I downloaded 12.0 (r2) and copied that out to the servers as well.
When I did the Upgrade Adviser the r1 and r2 variants are not there just 11.53, 12.0.
The release notes made no mention of prereqs of 12.0 before 12.0 rc2
When I first tried to install NPM I tried using 12.0.1R2. I received an error that I could not install NPM with my existing version of VNQM 4.2.3 and the install quit.
I then installed 12.0, then 12.01r2 on all servers
After that I tried to install SAM and then message that I couldn't install SAM with VNQM 4.2.3
I installed VNQM 4.2.4 and then was able to finish up with SAM 6.3.0
So,overall the upgrade went well just was a bit confusing.
I'm hope this helps others in their planning.
