ARM automatically deletes global groups

Hi,

if we assign user rights via ARM, the ARM automatically creates a local and a global group

The local group is given the appropriate access rights on the directory.

The global group contains the members who should have access to the directory and is itself a member of the local group.

If we now remove all members from the global group, the ARM automatically deletes the global group.
The local group remains.

Can this behavior be turned off?
We do not want global groups to be deleted once they have been created.

Even worse:
If the global group is deleted and we want to give users access to the corresponding directory again, the ARM does not recognize that a local group still exists and wants to create another local group.

We are currently still using ARM version 19.4.0.129.

Hi Jonas,

there is a way to suppress the delete of groups. Maybe you know the "server.config.xml" file. You can add the following switch:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" standalone="yes"?>
<config>
...

<activeDirectory.allowDelete8MANGroups type="System.Boolean">False</activeDirectory.allowDelete8MANGroups>

...
<config>

The file is lacated here: %ProgramData%\protected-networks.com\8MAN\cfg\pnServer.config.xml

Please ensure that the file is valid xml after editing. Use for example a browser to check the validity. A restart of the service is not needed.

In the GroupWizard sandbox, the action to delete is then omitted and the group will remain independently from the number of members.
