NPM: How do i find network interfaces that have used NPM license?

Hi, Can you please help me finding network interfaces that have used NPM license? I can see total Current number of interfaces in the License Details section, but i would like to see each individual one? I appreciate your help!

it's a bit tricky, but from when I've played with it before, all interfaces on servers will not count against the NPM interface elements count limit. Anything where the device category shows up as being network or other counts against the NPM element limits.

something like

select count(*), n.category

from nodes n

join interfaces i on i.nodeid=n.nodeid

group by n.category

you can filter that against the correct category type, but I can't recall off hand which is for NPM and which is for SAM

All nodes monitored via WMI will not count the interfaces as a NPM licence so you can add to the above query to check the polling method. Also even if they dotn mention it also if you monitor a server via Agent and you have SAM it will not count the interfaces as NPM license.

SAM licensing model

Your SAM license interacts additively with other SolarWinds licenses. For example, if you have NPM SL500 (500 nodes and 500 volumes) installed with SAM A1L50, you can monitor:

650 nodes (500 NPM nodes + 150 SAM nodes)
650 volumes (the number of volumes matches the node count)
500 interfaces monitored with SNMP
150 component monitors
An unlimited number of interfaces polled using WMI

Reason: Under NPM will list: The interfaces monitored with SNMP, and under Manage Nodes it list all the polling options.

You can validate by:

Log on to the SolarWinds Web Console with an administrator account.
Click Settings > All Settings.
Click License Details in the Details section.

Under NPM will list: The interfaces monitored with SNMP

(And does not include the Interfaces that are under Monitor by other method)

You can confirm the number on Orion Web Console > Settings> Manage Nodes and filter by Polling method and under search select Interfaces instead nodes.

You can setup a report to display all interfaces, and add filter by SNMP monitor
