Are there any plans to support MySQL in the near future? I'm a DBA that supports multiple companies with different platforms, it would be ideal to have this running at home and add all my instances so I can monitor them in a single place.
Hi
In the What we are working on now post, MySQL is in there. It is for sure on our radar for upcoming releases.
Kathy
I have additional questions if you dont mind.
1. Are you currently a DPA customer? If Yes, which products do you own
2. Would you be interested in participating in a beta program if it includes monitoring MySQL instances?
Thanks
Hi Kathleen,
I'm demoing the DPA for SQL Server right now at my workplace. I'm working
with Rob Mandevil over there with you folks to get the send mail
configuration working correctly (something isn't working right). Once this
is working and I start getting alerts I'm going to test it out for the next
few days to get a better feel for the software. Once I'm done with this
one, it's onto the next piece of software. I will hopefully make a decision
on the software platform of choice before the end of September.
As for the beta program, can I have a single DPA instance monitor SQL
Server and MySQL or do I have to install two different versions?
Regards,
Michael Murray

Hi Micheal,
We dont have this available at this time for MySQL, it is on the roadmap. I can say though that currently when you monitor multiple platforms with DPA (currently Oracle, MSSQL Server, Sybase, and DB2 LUW) you only need one install of DPA.
I would love to become a BETA tester in your program if you are still
looking for people. I would love to test the latest and greatest for MySQL
and MSSQL.
