SNMP write error 31006

I'm trying to change interface descriptions through the Config Manager. When I type the description in the field I get the following error.

Cannot set value to xyz

Unknon error 31006

Are you using a Read-Write SNMP community String?

I am using a RW string and when I choose Validate SNMP Credentials everything comes back fine. Any ideas?
