Is there some reason there isn't a template for bios for Dell Optiplex gx620, 745, 755?
What would be involved in making one?

Dell maintains these catalogs so I would not be able to answer the question regarding why these Optiplex updates are not present. It is possible to build a custom package yourself. You can start by duplicating one of the existing Dell packages and modifying it to accommodate the desired BIOS update. Keep in mind that the Dell BIOS updates in the catalog query for BIOS version using Dell's WMI extensions. Those will need to be installed on the client systems or you will need to find another way to query for BIOS version.

Run wbemtest.exe, connect to a test machine and manually execute your query as a test. You may find that the information is not populated and may need to search for other classes where the information is stored. Also, wbemtest is an expert-friendly tool and may require a bit of research and practice to get used to.
